In January of 2023, a small but mighty group of local individuals in Bonner County, moved by a presentation at The East Bonner County Library in Sandpoint about the plight of the Monarch Butterfly, formed The Mighty Monarch Conservation Group. Alarmed to hear that monarch butterflies have declined more than 95% from their historic populations which numbered in the millions just a few years ago, our group jumped into action.
